I am a tutor from Houston, Texas. Before working as a teacher, tutor, and professor, I attended the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Texas at Brownsville. I have experience teaching students of all skill levels, and in all age groups. I do not think any one aspect alone makes a great teacher. I believe great teachers come from a combination of education, experience, passion for learning, and the ability to create comfortable learning environments for the students. I believe each student learns differently, and tutoring should be tailored to cater to the individual's goals and learning style. My work, combined with my academic pursuits, really drove home the importance of shared goals, dedication, and a comfortable learning environment. I excel at tutoring a variety of subjects, but I am most passionate about sharing my knowledge of Algebra, Spanish, Reading, Writing, Essay Editing, Public Speaking, and English. I also enjoy helping students build strong study and organization skills. My goal is to help students understand concepts, and foster the attitude that learning can be fun. I am an avid learner, whether I am teaching others, drawing, painting, listening to music, hiking, or spending time with friends and family. I believe by maintaining a positive attitude towards learning, and creating a comfortable learning environment, I can help students maximize their potential.
